Environmental Commitment
Our primary raw material used is paper. The paper we use is wood pulp based, meaning it comes from trees. Trees are the most used renewable resource in the world. We purchase paper from mills that pass rigorous standards to ensure that forests are used in manners that are environmentally, socially and economically responsible. This practice means that non-recycled papers are a sound environmental choice in addition to recycled papers, which are available as an option on most products. In fact, virgin papers typically have a lower carbon footprint to produce than recycled stocks.
On a personal note, I am an avid backpacker and spend significant time in forests. I am a Leave no Trace Master Educator, the highest training available to ensure responsible recreational use in the outdoors. My personal philosophy of preservation of natural resources, particularly forests, carries over into my business decisions. At Black Knight Press, we believe that using mills and papers that are third party certified as responsible forestry stewards helps to provide some of the most earth friendly advertising specialty products available.
